Community Support Specialist

AtWork! is seeking a full-time Community Support Specialist to join our Employment Services team. Community Support Specialists specialize in assisting individuals with disabilities to secure and maintain employment that is relevant to their interests and skills, as well as connecting seniors or those that have chosen to transition from employment services to their communities through various events, volunteer work, and experiences within the community. This includes developing leads and contacts in their local community and securing activities that enrich the lives of each Person Served.

Community Support Specialists are responsible for ensuring that employers have the assistance they need to train and maintain the quality performance of their employees. The Community Support Specialist coaches at the job site with individuals to help train both the individual and the employer on the following areas including but not limited to: effective communication techniques, accommodations, skills, and developing natural supports in the workplace to promote independence for the person being served.

COMPENSATION:
$19.00 – $20.00 per hour

LOCATION:
Greater King County

Education & Experience Requirement

– College degree preferred. Some college coursework in the areas of Marketing, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Education, or Sociology acceptable.

– One (1) year of experience working with people with disabilities is a plus.

– Knowledge of Individualized Employment practices and Community Inclusion preferred.

Other Requirements

– Valid Washington State Driver’s License

– Good driving record

– Proof of liability insurance

– Ability to pass a background investigation

– First Aid & CPR Certification
