Meet BPAW! Businesses Powered by AtWork!
Businesses Powered By AtWork! (BPAW) consists of the businesses and supports that power our Mission Services and allow us to serve more people. With three business lines and three support units, BPAW empowers AtWork! to do more and serve more people.
We operate three business units that include Landscaping, Food Service, and Production. Each of these lines provides AbilityOne Services typically procured through SourceAmerica.
Landscaping
Our landscaping division maintains two federal AbilityOne contracts, providing year-round grounds maintenance services. We serve the NOAA facility in Seattle and the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System. These contracts support multiple employees with disabilities, offering stable, fulfilling jobs in outdoor environments where they develop transferable skills and take pride in beautifying their community.
Food Services
Our food services division maintains an AbilityOne contract with the U.S. Coast Guard. Employees with disabilities prepare and serve meals, maintain kitchen operations, and ensure food safety and quality for Coast Guard personnel. This work environment fosters strong teamwork, reliability, and professional growth in the fast-paced food industry.
Production
Our production team specializes in high-volume document scanning and secure document destruction. Through our contracts, we provide digital conversion services—including pick-up and delivery, searchable digital files, and quality error logs. This division is powered by skilled individuals with disabilities who ensure quality and accuracy in every scan or shred.
These business lines are a vital part of our mission. They prove that when given opportunity and support, people with disabilities can succeed in complex, competitive industries—and that inclusive workplaces benefit everyone involved.
AtWork! + Source America + AbilityOne: Powering Up Disability Inclusion
AtWork! had the honor of hosting a visit from SourceAmerica, alongside Chris Brandt, former CEO of AtWork! and now an AbilityOne Commissioner with the U.S. AbilityOne Commission.
Together, we spotlighted our mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and explored exciting possibilities for expanding supported employment services through deepened collaboration.
Celebrating Our AbilityOne Food Services Team
Our AtWork! BPAW Food Services crew, were honored by the U.S. Coast Guard Commanding Officer for their outstanding service to the base and crew.
We were proud to join them on September 30, 2025 to celebrate this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for your incredible dedication and for showing how inclusion and excellence go hand in hand.
